Top 10 Greatest Films
I’ve configured a list of what I believe to be the top 10 greatest films of all-time. I placed a quotation beside each movie that I felt passionate about. There’s no specific genre that I focused on, except that I did not add any comedies, because I believe comedies (no matter how classic, such as ‘Dumb and Dumber’ or ‘Friday’) and dramas cannot be placed on same level of comparisson. Well, without further adu, here’s the infamous list:
10. Casablanca: “Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine.”
9. Psycho: “We’re always quickest to doubt people who have a reputation for being honest.”
8. City of God: “It was like a message from God: ‘Honesty doesn’t pay, sucker.’”
7. Trainspotting: “That lassie got glassed, and no cunt leaves here till we find out what cunt did it.”
6. Fight Club: “This is your life, and it’s ending one minute at a time.”
5. Snatch.: “Listen, you fucking fringe, if I throw a dog a bone, I don’t want to know if it tastes good or not. You stop me again whilst I’m walking, and I’ll cut your fucking Jacobs off.”
4. Taxi Driver: “I think someone should just take this city and just… just flush it down the fuckin’ toilet.”
3. Casino: “Back home, they put me in jail for what I’m doing. Here, they give me awards.”
2. The Godfather Saga: “There are many things my father taught me here in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.”
1. Pulp Fiction: “I don’t wanna hear about no motherfuckin’ ifs. All I wanna hear from your ass is, ‘You ain’t got no problem, Jules. I’m on the motherfucker. Go back in there, chill them niggers out and wait for the cavalry which should be coming directly.’”

What about Blow, man? What about Blow??? Taxi Driver #4, really? Well I like your numero uno, friend.
I dont know about blow being a top 10 movie however I do think that Goodfellas deserves to be up there. Don’t get me wrong but Blow just doesnt deserve to be top 10. Maybe in my top 20. Other than no Goodfellas… nice list.
Blow and Goodfellas are great but not top 10 material. I was hesitant about Psycho and Casablanca, but they are in fact great movies, even though they may lack modern techno-suave creativity. But the most certainly don’t need it to be great. That’s why they’re classics. I couldn’t have Goodfellas because then Scorsese would be all over the list. By the way Casino is not so much different than Goodfellas (just kidding… just the same actors lol). If it was a top 20 list then Scorsese would definitely dominate with The Departed, Raging Bull, and Mean Streets on the list as well. Well thanks for your opinions, fellas.
Love trainspotting. I keep hearing about City of God, need to see it, is it really that good?
I think Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is better than Snatch. Just my opinion. So many great quotes from that flick. Need to see Rocknrolla.

I agree Goodfellas needs to be added to that list…maybe it your list could be the top 11 greatest films??? (just a thought)

I love this film. what about Lucky Slaven, do you like it….Ray is also a great film. there are lots of them….it depends!!!!
I HATE RAY!!! I don’t know why but that movie pulled a nerve in me. I saw it quite recently and I thought it was total garbage. If anything #10 should be some Woody Allen movie just because he tries so hard and makes so many films that just don’t make it big. He still has crazy talent. I love Tarantino but he’s gotta be one of the laziest directors out there.
