She lost her sight when she was 12 years old when she was swept away by a tornado. She was found alive with sand in her eyes, which was the reason for her blindness. Vanga began making predictions when she was 16 years old. She became very famous for having this gift rather quickly. Many of the statesman including Hitler had visited her and it is reported that Hitler left her house looking upset.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Some past predictions of hers include:</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Prediction From 1980: “At the turn of the century, in August of 1999 or 2000, </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Kursk</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> will be covered with water, and the whole world will be weeping over it.”</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Result: The Russian sub </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Kursk</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> perished in an accident in August 2000 </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Prediction from 1989: “Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing.”</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Result: 9/11</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">There are many others, and her predictions are 65% accurate. I honestly hope that the predictions you are about to read are part of the 35% that are inaccurate.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Future predictions are as follows, translated from Russian:</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-size: small;">P.S. She also predicted;<br />
“Everything will melt away like ice yet the glory of </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Vladimir</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> , the glory of </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Russia</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> are the only things that will remain. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Russia</span></span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"> will not only survive, it will dominate the world.”(1979)<br />
- The prediction was made in Soviet times when just a few people were using the term<br />
“</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Russia</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">”. It remains to be seen which Vladimir Vanga had referred to. There are three real candidates: The Prince Vladimir, Vladimir Lenin, the Vladimir Putin, or the future one…</span></span></p>

The topic this year is <a href="http://www.poverty.com/" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.poverty.com');" target="_blank">poverty</a>,</span></span><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> a critical matter that is the cause of thousands of daily deaths throughout the world. The Wikiweblog Team decided to write an article surrounding this topic and we will be attempting to create enough buzz to help solve this ongoing crises.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Unindustrialised Poverty</span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">When thinking about poverty and hunger, we automatically tend to think of the starving children in unindustrialised nations. Third world nations, which are economically underdeveloped countries, make up the majority of the world. These nations suffer from corrupt governments, hunger, inhumane living conditions, constant strife, and many other dilemmas that all share the same underlining fundamental issue: poverty. At a time when the world seems to be collapsing economically, this vital moment does not shed any light on the third world. The first and quickly rising second world nations cannot turn their backs on the fact that the rest of the world needs their support to at least have the ability to access clean waters and have fresh foods. There are many <a href="http://www.feedthechildren.org/site/PageServer?pagename=dotorg_homepage" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.feedthechildren.org');" target="_blank">programs and organizations</a></span><span style="font-size: small;"><a href="http://www.feedthechildren.org/site/PageServer?pagename=dotorg_homepage" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outbound/article/www.feedthechildren.org');" target="_blank"> </a>that are attempting to solve poverty and hunger issues, but they need more funding and volunteers to make greater achievements.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Our Neighbourhoods<a href="http://www.wikiweblog.com/wp-content/gallery/pics/homeless man.jpg" title="" class="thickbox" rel="singlepic24" ><img class="ngg-singlepic ngg-right" src="http://www.wikiweblog.com/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggshow.php?pid=24&amp;width=200&amp;height=305&amp;mode=" alt="homeless man.jpg" title="homeless man.jpg" /></a></span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Poverty is not only a problem in the third world, but it is right here under our noses. You don’t have to be a starving African child to know the effects of poverty. There are millions living in poor conditions who are struggling daily to pay bills, put food on the table, sustain their job when unemployment is reaching its peak, and at the same time fight off any threat such as drugs that many people in those conditions tend to succumb to due to those very conditions. If you’re not able to help out other nations, at least attempt to clean up your very own neighbourhood. It is important to teach teenagers to choose the correct path in life, to teach them that some things that may come easy now are detrimental in the long-run. It is up to all of us to influence each other in a positive way. The blog action day issue may be poverty, but poverty is not a topic that can be tackled with one clean swipe, but it has roots and branches that connect to it. In order to really get rid of poverty, we must all decide to follow a vision where you’ll help in a way that you can, and I’ll help in a way that I can. When everyone gives a little, aside from constantly taking, we all win something.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Something to Remember</span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Competition tends to feed poverty. Sometimes you and I need to stop for a moment and really indulge in what we have instead of what we lack. And once we do that, we will see that we might have more than what we thought we did, and more importantly, that we are all in the same struggle together. We shouldn’t try to take from each other, but instead embrace what each of us has and share it. Also, the underlining causes of poverty will not be solved in a single day, but if we aim to solve the problem, there’s nothing stopping us but us.</span></span></p>

Interestingly enough, after such long refusal to compromise, </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">N. Korea</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> finally decided to allow the UN and its allies to inspect the labs and other areas of the nation where nuclear weapons, or means of creating nuclear weapons, might be stashed. What catches me by surprise is ‘Why did it take so long to accept the conditions?’<span id="more-349"></span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">At first </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">North Korea</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> was opposing to the way U.S was going to verify its nuclear secrets. The problem that I see with all this is that how do we know that U.S or the U.N will be able to inspect all of the necessary locations where weapons of mass destruction could be hidden. There must be secret locations that the U.N has no way of tracking. Even if we ignore that fact, what about the fact that </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">North Korea</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> wants to be taken off the “Evil” list when </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">America</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> is at its weakest and most vulnerable period in a long time. Think about it logically, would you give in to your enemy at a time that they seem to have no power to really do anything to you? I am not putting U.S down, I’m just trying to look at it from the point of view of the long-standing enemy.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">From the wise words of Jim Morrison, “the future’s uncertain,” but hopefully the end is not near. It was only in 2006 that </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">North Korea</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> tested its first nuclear weapon, and now its leader, Kim Jong Il is committed to disabling his nuclear reactor. One nation down from the list, another four to go. We need </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Iran</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Cuba</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Sudan</span><span style="font-family: Arial;">, and </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Syria</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> to cooperate in order to have a safe world. </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">Iran</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> seems to bring most threat to U.S and the rest of the industrialised world, but only time will tell where this will lead.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;">Final Thoughts</span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="color: #ff0000; font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">It’s interesting to see what type of relationship </span><span style="font-family: Arial;">North Korea</span><span style="font-family: Arial;"> will now have with the western world. Also, I find it funny to see how much effort U.S was putting into making North Korea look monstrous, and if they will put as much effort to improve its name now that it’s no longer an “axis of evil”. </span></span></p>
